Back for its 5th year, on a new date for this year only - Sunday 25th of April, our iconic swims start at Rose Bay and follow the coastline giving participants stunning views to the Harbour Bridge as they go. The harbour swim provides more predicable conditions for the open water first-timers and gives the competitive ones a chance to have a good crack at their PBs. ON THE DAY SWIM STARTS Due to Covid-19 each swim will have a starting window where there will be a 2 person at a time rolling start. Your time will start once you cross the timing mat on the swim start pontoon. DEMENTIA AUSTRALIA 1km SWIM Start window is open from 8:00am and closes at 8:15am. GARMIN 5km SWIM Start window is open from 8:15am and closes at 8:30am. 2.5km SWIM Start window is open from 8:30am and closes at 9:00am. TIMING CHIP PICK UP Timing chip pick up opens at 6:00am inside the Woollahra Sailing Club compound. All swimmers need to bring some form of ID to pick up their timing chip inside Woollahra Sailing club. SWIM CAPS To help the environment we are adopting a BYO (bring your own) policy on swim caps. However we will have Sydney Harbour Splash caps available on the day for a $2 donation to Dementia Australia in case you forget to bring yours. EVENT SAFETY BRIEFING This year we are presenting the Event Safety Briefing to you via video link below instead of in person at the race start, to eliminate unnecessary gathering at the event. Please ensure you watch this video prior to attending. TOILETS & CHANGING ROOMS Please come ready to swim! Due to Covid-19 we are encouraging people to avoid changing rooms as these can be congested spaces where it is hard to social distance. We will have use of the toilets inside the club but will also have port-o-loos located on the grass outside the club. VALUABLES As the event is run out of the Woollahra Sailing Club you are more than welcome to leave your valuables inside. Whilst all care is taken, the event organisers and club cannot be held responsible for the loss of any items. FINISH LINE This would normally be a place for people to congregate and celebrate but unfortunately for your own safety we ask you not to do that this year. The process for this year is really simple, cross the line, celebrate with a shimmy or a wiggle, remove your own timing tag, place it in the buckets provided, grab yourself a drink then leave the finish area.
