A guided tour of the Elvina Track and lunch at the historic Trincomalee residence to raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
Join Garden Life founder, Richard Unsworth, and bush expert, Paul Webb, for a private guided tour of the Elvina Track Walk in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, followed by lunch at the historic Trincomalee residence, Richard’s home in Pittwater. Money raised from the tour will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, to support the amazing work they do in Australia’s remote communities.
 
ITINERARY
 

• 8.30am - Meet at Church Point Ferry Wharf (parking available)
• 8.55am - Ferry departs from Church Point
• 9.20am - Arrive at Elvina Bay North Wharf and begin walk
• 12.30pm - Arrive at Trincomalee for lunch and a garden tour
• 1.30pm - Depart Trincomalee and walk down to Elvina North Wharf
• 2.00pm - Ferry to Church Point (or water taxi direct from house)

ABOUT THE WALK
 

• Group size: 8 people + guides
• Distance: approx. 7km circular walk
• Time: approx. 2.5 – 3 hours
• Grade: 3-4 medium hike (includes a hill)
• Weather: the walk will be rescheduled if heavy rain is forecast, although we will walk in light rain

Requirements:

• A degree of fitness is needed to complete the walk
• Wear closed toe walking shoes
• Carry your own water and a snack if needed
• Maintain social distancing
• Sign and return waiver provided on day

HIGHLIGHTS
 
Discover the natural beauty of this hidden part of Sydney, just one hours drive north from the CBD.
 
Start the day off by catching the Scotland Island Ferry across to Elvina Bay where we’ll start our walk through the stunning Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
 
From there we'll head along the Elvina Track and explore wonderful Indigenous carvings, including ‘the emu in the sky,’ which is said to reflect the constellations.
 
Along the way we’ll identify local bush foods, wildflowers and learn about native flora and fauna and how they can work in your own garden. Paul will take us off the beaten track, to point out some favourite spots, including the ponds at the top of the Lovett Bay Waterfall.
 
Finally we will make our way down to Richard’s house, Trincomalee, for an informal lunch and look at the regeneration of this historic property’s garden, the neighbouring crown land, and the garden works in progress, before returning to Church Point.
