The role:
 
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall financial management and reporting for CWG’s entities. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will deliver strategic financial insights to drive decision making and improve overall business performance. This role also entails:
 

• Managing a small team of Accountants, involving objective setting
• Preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, statements and forecasts for all CWG entities
• Working closely with brand management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings
• Assist CFO with financial and management reporting, including commentaries as required at Board meetings
• Oversee payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
• Assist with the negotiations and manage the employee insurance and benefits plans.
• Cash flow management
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
• Overseeing group consolidation process
• Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external auditor
• Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business
• Process and submit statutory and benefits remittances on time
• Prepare the annual budget for each brand in consultation with the CEO, CFO and General Managers for each brand

 
 
Who you are:
 
Alongside 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, you will have:
 

• University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management Administration
• CPA (Certified Practising Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountants) designation
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues.
• Well-developed written and oral communications skills.
• Strong leadership qualities
• Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
• Compliance oriented
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Auditing experience would be highly preferable
• Effective time management and organisational skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
• A collaborative approach and enjoy communicating with a wide range of people
• High personal and professional standard of work
