The Glenbrook Trail Marathon on Sunday, 15 August 2021 is a true trail running experience with some challenging climbs, spectacular scenery and fast and fun downhills.

The event hub is set in Euroka Clearing - a great bush escape and only an hour from Sydney.

The course takes runners on a tour of the best trails in this part of the Blue Mountains National Park, a trip past Portal Waterhole, Red Hands Cave, named for its indigenous paintings and along the creek beds of Glenbrook gorge and the high banks of the Nepean River.

Course Details Marathon The marathon will take runners on a quick lap of Euroka Clearing then up the ‘Goat Track’ and on to Mount Portal Lookout. From there runners will head back down Mount Portal and a right hand turn to some of the best single tracks in the national park down into Camp Fire Creek at the lowest point on the course. Runners will start the climb following the creek to Red Hands Cave. Runners will continue the uphill grind to Nepean Lookout. Once at Nepean the runners will turn around and retrace their steps with a side trip down the rarely seen Pisgah Ridge Fire Trail for a quick 2.7k out and back. The last 8kms will be kind to runners with a downhill on the Oaks Fire Trail then a quick trip down Bennetts Ridge Fire Trail and back into Euroka Clearing for the finish line. 34 km option The 34 km course is not running Pisgah Ridge fire trail. Otherwise it will follow exactly the same route. 25 km option The 25 km course follows the same route as the marathon until the top of Red Hands Cave Fire Trail than it’s an immediate left onto the Oaks Fire Trail for a downhill finish. Six Foot Track Marathon Qualifier Both 34 km and 42 km events will be qualifiers for the Six Foot Track Marathon. You will need to run the 34km in 4:15 and 42km 5:15. Course cut-offs Cut-off time for the marathon is 6 hours. If you have not made it to the Pisgah out and back aid station, 24 km, by 11.30 am or 3.5 hours race time, you will not finish the marathon within this cut-off time, but can continue to complete the 34 km race. Aid on the course Aid stations will have the following: Aid Station 1 (7.5 km) – Water, Fruit Aid Station 2 (13 km) – Water, Electrolyte, Fruit Aid Station 3 (18 km /35 km) – Water, Electrolyte, Coke, Fruit Aid Station 4 (21 km / 24 km / 32 km) – Water, Electrolyte, Coke, Fruit Aid Station 5 (37.5 km) – Water, Electrolyte, Coke, Fruit View the detailed Aid Stations Map Mandatory Gear 500ml of water – Not negotiable! Catering On the day catering will consist be delivered by Snax on Trax. Entry includes a free sausage sandwich or vegetarian options plus a cold drink. Volunteers We are looking for volunteers to help out on the day – any help is appreciated. Please contact us if you are able to help out. Aid Stations, on Course Marshaling and other various jobs.
