Role Overview: The key focus of the Financial Controller is to:
 

  • Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Company’s management and financial reporting. This includes responsibility for the internal control environment, specifically as it relates to the Company’s ERP system (Oracle) and the impact that may have on the financials. It is a hands-on role which assumes responsibility for all financial accounting functions, as well as partnering with other business units to provide budget support and analysis for certain departments.
  • Provide key financial insights and input into decision-making and the financial planning processes
  • Lead the Customer Operations Team and ensure all Field staff have a superior level of service
  • Lead the logistics function to ensure all inventory and related processes work efficiently and effectively
  • Lead the Payroll function to ensure all staff are paid correctly and related processes work efficiently and effectively
  • 6 Direct Reports: Financial Accountants (2), Management Accountant, Operations Accountant, Logistics & Field Support Manager, and Payroll Manager.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Manage the Finance Team which consists of Accountants, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash, Logistics, Field Support, and Payroll
 
Be a member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT) which consists of 3 Senior Managers and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of 6 Directors. ELT sits with SLT every 2 weeks to discuss management & leadership of the business
 
  • Maintain financial systems and internal control procedures.
  • Submit timely & accurate month-end reporting to WWI, Inc in New York
  • Meet statutory, tax, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Maintain systems to collate data relevant to financial and business operations.
  • Cash flow management
  • Manage the Logistics, Customer Operations and Payroll teams effectively
  • In the absence of the Finance Director, be prepared to take on extra duties to ensure that critical deadlines are met.  
 
Requirements:
 
  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant
  • Strong analytical and financial knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Advanced experience with accounting systems (specifically Oracle)
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Excel
  • High level of computer competency
  • Very high attention to detail
