An incredibly rare and exciting opportunity has opened up for an Head Chef at the award-winning yoga and meditation sanctuary, Billabong Retreat in Sydney’s north-west. Be surrounded by like-minded creative people as you develop your own unique culinary experience for our guests whilst leading a team of up to 10 cooks and kitchen hands. Based on the premise that food is the best medicine, Billabong Retreat delivers delicious organic vegetarian food with a menu based on traditional wholefood recipes made from locally sourced ingredients. Not only will you create your own menus but there is scope to extend your personal brand via cooking classes, media exposure and the compilation of recipe books. Like Billabong Retreat’s health-focused and holistic team, we are looking for a personable, passionate chef who is a natural communicator keen to mingle with guests during meal service. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a chef and with experience working with vegetarian menus. You will have experience managing chefs and kitchen hands, suppliers, ordering stock and be fully accredited with up-to-date health and safety requirements. Your working week will be made up of approx. 40 hours and will include weekend and evening work. All yoga, meditation and workshops are included in your package as is relocation accommodation where necessary.
