Are you ThinkPlace's next Design Director?

If this job advert caught your attention, we think ThinkPlace would too!

We work at the crossroad of social change and design. We engage with the complexity and the messiness of real human experiences — how people live, work and play; how people experience products, services or regulations; how they navigate systems they interact with. We tackle some of the world’s most complex challenges using design-led, human-centred approaches.

As we step into an exciting future, we have two new positions available to lead our Sydney and Melbourne studios. If the requirements below haven't ticked all your boxes, please don't rule yourself out just yet. We want to see your whole self, not just what you are on paper. Diversity for us is beyond a manifesto, we celebrate it.

We want someone that will embrace the team, grow and support them to take leaps in their career. With a capability to use design in ways to reframe and address complex challenges.

In this role you will:

  • Define challenges with clients; lead proposal development

Some of the challenges our team is taking on are:

  • Customer centric design tackling challenges within the spaces of public health, climate change, circular economy, equality and resilience.
  • Support a range of clients across private sector and Government to design better experiences, services, policies, business and operating models for better outcomes
  • Combine research, storytelling and complex visualisation to bring a collaborative, empathetic and inclusive approach to catalysing change. Use behaviour insights and design strategies to scale up sustainable programs for wider adoption
