Term: 5 days per week on a 6-month fixed term contract with the potential for extension
 
This position will play an integral role in ensuring recipes and meal plans meet nutritional requirements for key stakeholders and to assist in the content creation and development of nutritional courses and curriculums aimed at children, parents, educators and cooks. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in providing project coordination and training support to assist with the implementation of pilot research programmes.
 
 
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
 

• Provide nutritional analysis of all meal plans and recipes
• Ensure that meal plans and recipes in childcare centres meet and exceed government recommendations
• Support with creation of meal plans against defined budget, timeframe, and deliverable targets
• Provide input and project coordination support to implement allergy management and compliance system
• Assist with the development of menu planning to ensure a depth of menu choices to support cultural diversity in centres
• Undertake qualitative research and conduct interviews and develop surveys for key stakeholders
• Assist with the development of approved shopping lists to align with set menu/meal planning and nutritional requirements
• Work collaboratively to ensure menus are adapted based on feedback and insights from key stakeholders
• Assist with content creation and education around positive mealtime routines and rituals to build early healthy eating habits in centres and the home
• Support centre cooks and centre managers to develop and maintain Food Safety Plans and Food licensing
• Mentor and support key stakeholders to make necessary changes and problem solve
• Provide ongoing project support to the development and implementation of additional nutritional based initiatives that evolve throughout the project
• Engage with marketing and media to provide insights on nutrition content and messaging that is evidence-based and based on the latest findings
• Respond to food and nutrition-related enquiries from consumers and health professionals

• Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure quality and high level of research is achieved
• Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues

• Participate in meetings, conferences and training courses, as appropriate.

• Relevant qualifications in Nutrition & Dietetics for full membership of Dietitians Australia (DA)
• Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in children’s nutrition, health and wellbeing
• A passion for family wholefood nutrition
• Ability to train and engage with key stakeholders in the early childhood nutrition sector (parents, educators, cooks)
• In-depth knowledge of nutritional requirements for early life, based on Australian Dietary Guidelines
• Proven ability to implement and complete continuous quality improvement and parent engagement activities
• Ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise accordingly.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment.

• Excellent communication and writing skills
