For over 15 years, Recovery Station has been providing community and clinic based allied health services, with a strong focus on disability and senior health. We have consistently grown and now proudly offer support to people with diverse needs across the Greater Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney regions.
Together, our passionate, multidisciplinary team of OTs, MHOT’s, MH Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants collaboratively share their knowledge and experience to holistically design an individualised service to help improve the quality of life for people living with a disability or looking to age as independently as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties
 
  • Based from our Neutral Bay office, we are looking for a experienced Dietitian to service a growing caseload across the North Shore and would likely commence at 2 days per week in a Contracting capacity. For someone looking for a full-time position, Business Development and/or Leadership opportunities can be discussed as we're passionate about championing and growing our Dietetics services. 
  • Day to day you will be competent in developing care plans and writing comprehensive reports based on your advanced clinical understanding, application of various clinical assessments and implementation of appropriate interventions to address prioritised needs.
  • You will be competent in undertaking nutrition assessment, screening and education, providing support for meal preparation and planning, providing counselling and education on weight management, and managing malnutrition.
  • The current caseload is people over 16yrs of age and includes those with a range of disabilities (e.g. intellectual disability, Autism, Down Syndrome), neurological events (e.g. stroke, acquired brain injury, brain tumour) and degenerative disease (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, dementia). You will provide assessment, therapy, management and translate scientific nutrition information into dietary advice for clients including: diabetes management, weight loss, malnutrition, improving diet assisting people with the development of nutritional meal plans and providing education and training to clients, carers and support staff.
 
Essential Criteria
 
To thrive in this role you will:
 
  • Demonstrate a high level of broad generalist knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning skills in dietetics
  • Provide comprehensive standard of clinical services, including client assessments and interventions
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a varied clinical caseload
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to providing person- centred care
  • Participate in regular discipline specific and MDT meetings to debrief, share ideas/ resources and to receive training
Qualifications and Skills
 
  • Must be qualified to practice as a Dietitian in Australia, as recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Current driver's license with use of own vehicle
