Nutrisoy is a leading soy food manufacturer supplying major retailers and foodservice businesses nationwide. We are seeking an experienced Food Technologist / Product Developer to lead existing and new product development, whilst working with both the leadership team and operators to ensure consistent high-quality products.
 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Ensure all products manufactured consistently meet all sensory quality standards
  • Find and implement methods to improve and optimise the taste and texture of products
  • Investigate product issues raised by management, QA or production staff and implement appropriate solutions
  • Lead NPD (new product development) projects which includes ideation contribution, sourcing of ingredients, compiling of documentation and customer submissions
  • Lead EPD (existing product development) projects by reviewing existing formulations and methodologies with the objective to reduce costs, improve quality, optimise processes and increase efficiency
  • Work with the operations team to ensure NPD and EPD projects are developed with cost control and within labour and equipment limitations
  • Oversee factory trials and first productions for all NPD and EPD projects
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as customers and suppliers for project and regulatory requirements
  • Work on special projects such as shelf life extension and new packaging development
  • Assist in the documentation of recipes and production methodologies
 
 
Requirements:
 
  • Creative, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on, self-motivated and a quick learner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Organised with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible with working hours
  • 3+ years experience in food technology/product development or related field
  • Tertiary qualification in food science/technology or related field
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP
 
 
This is a permanent full-time position with a negotiable salary depending on experience and expertise. Only candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered.
