Astrid, Australia's first female-led dispensary and natural therapies clinic, has launched a powerful new campaign aimed at shedding light on the struggles of living with endometriosis in Australia. "Bodies of a Broken System" was launched in honour of Endometriosis Awareness Month, with the goal of addressing the gaps in care and support for those living with this chronic condition.
Endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it, affects one in seven women and people assigned female at birth in Australia. Despite its prevalence, the average time it takes to receive an accurate diagnosis is seven years. During this time, many patients experience their symptoms being dismissed, misdiagnosed, or poorly managed—leading to frustration, pain, and missed opportunities for better treatment.
Astrid's founder, Lisa Nguyen, knows this all too well. "When people first come to Astrid, it’s often because they’re frustrated with the healthcare system. Many patients with endometriosis—or suspected endometriosis—have had their symptoms dismissed, been offered treatments they don’t believe in, or struggled for relief without an official diagnosis," says Nguyen. "We believe everyone deserves access to informed, unbiased care that considers all possibilities. When there’s such a fundamental misunderstanding, both medically and culturally, about the reality of living with endometriosis, patients need advocates who truly listen."
The BODIES OF A BROKEN SYSTEM campaign is designed to be a voice for those who have long felt unheard. By sharing real patient stories, providing educational resources, and offering holistic treatment options, the campaign is creating a space where patients can finally feel seen and supported.
Astrid's newly launched Endometriosis Resource Hub takes a comprehensive, holistic approach to managing the condition. With blogs, resource lists, and expert advice from endo-experienced care providers, the Resource Hub integrates traditional medical knowledge with complementary therapies, intimacy guidance, and emotional wellness strategies, tailored specifically for endometriosis management. This comprehensive approach acknowledges that endometriosis affects not just physical health, but mental wellbeing, relationships, careers, and overall quality of life.
The campaign’s Submission Portal invites people with endometriosis to share their own stories, providing a supportive community for those on the same journey. As part of this initiative, those who share their experience also receive exclusive discounts on trusted endometriosis care products. It’s about creating both a sense of belonging and tangible solutions for a community that has too often been overlooked by traditional healthcare.
“What makes this campaign different is that we’re not just raising awareness—we’re creating actionable pathways for people who have been let down by traditional healthcare,” explains Nguyen. “Whether someone is newly diagnosed, still seeking answers, or has been managing endometriosis for years, we want to provide both validation and viable alternatives.”
To further support those on their endometriosis journey, Astrid Clinics are offering free 10-minute consultations with their specialised nurse team. These complimentary calls provide an opportunity to discuss personalised treatment options and take the first step toward a more holistic approach to care.

This campaign is about more than just raising awareness—it’s about giving people the tools and support they need to reclaim control over their health, and ensuring that no one has to suffer in silence.
