Trailblazing Australian brand Bare Mum that’s dedicated to empowering and supporting women through the transformative journey of motherhood, has announced an innovative exhibition that’s aiming to promote the connectivity and empowerment that stems from women's diverse experiences with motherhood. Created over a span of six months, 24 women were asked to bare their bodies and share their stories of how motherhood has shaped them. Working with body casting artist Juliana Monteiro, their stories were immortalised through detailed, life-size sculptures of their wombs. Presented as fragmented classical sculptures, these casts capture the strength and fragility of these mothers' bodies and their journey in varying stages of both pregnancy and postpartum. The exhibition being held at M2 Gallery, Surry Hills will be open to the public from June 7th-10th. Through the masterful combination of visual and audio storytelling, the exhibition offers an emotive experience that aligns with Bare Mum's mission to build and connect a community that feels supported in their journey to motherhood and beyond. Bare Mum was born out of a deep desire to create a safe space for women to share their authentic experiences of motherhood, free from judgement or societal pressures,’ said Bare Mum Founder, Amelie Cazzulino. ‘We recognised the need for a community that celebrates the raw, unfiltered realities of this incredible journey, in all its beauty and complexity. With this campaign, I wanted to challenge people's perception of what it means to be a mother. There are so many different layers to motherhood, and I wanted to represent the many unique journeys it takes us on.’ Free bookings for ‘The Wall of Wombs’ at M2 Gallery - Shop 4/450 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills can be made here.
