A fast harbourside course, an epic after-party and a cause worth getting behind. The Real Insurance Harbour 10 returns to Sydney on Sunday 26 July 2026, bringing runners back to The Rocks for one of the city's most scenic winter events.

Now in its 15th year, the event has earned a loyal following among everyone from first-time racers to seasoned runners looking for a fast and enjoyable mid-year hit-out. With both 5km and 10km distances on offer, it's the kind of race that feels just as welcoming to someone pinning on a race bib for the first time as it does to someone chasing a personal best.

Created by the team behind the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, the Real Insurance Harbour 10 combines a flat, fast course with some of Sydney's most iconic harbour views. Add in the energy of race morning, cool winter conditions and a post-race celebration at Cruise Bar, and it's easy to see why so many runners keep coming back.

"This is about more than splits and finish times," said Race Director Wayne Larden.

"It's about that electric moment on the start line with your friends, family or run crew, the crisp winter air in your lungs, a spectacular flat harbourside course and the kind of finish-line energy that stays with you long after you cross it."

A Race Sydney's Run Clubs Have Embraced

Sydney's running scene looks very different to what it did a few years ago. New run clubs seem to be popping up every month, parkruns are drawing bigger crowds and it's not unusual to see groups gathering before sunrise for a few kilometres around the harbour.

The Real Insurance Harbour 10 gives many of those groups a reason to come together on the same start line, whether they're chasing a personal best or simply looking forward to a great morning out.

Some runners will be lining up for their first 5km, others will be chasing a 10km personal best, plenty will be there for the atmosphere, the harbour views, and the chance to spend a Sunday morning doing something they enjoy alongside friends, and once the finish line has been crossed, the celebrations continue.

Cruise Bar & Restaurant, an official after-party venue for this year's event, will be offering exclusive discounts to runners who flash their finisher medal at the bar.

Winter Is When The Work Gets Done

For many runners, winter is where the foundations for spring racing are built.

The cooler temperatures make training a little more enjoyable, long runs become easier to tackle and race day doesn't come with the challenge of Sydney's summer heat.

Held in late July, the Real Insurance Harbour 10 arrives at a time when many runners are building towards bigger goals, including the TCS Sydney Marathon.

Maybe you're keen to see how your training is tracking, or maybe you just need a race on the calendar to keep you moving through winter. Either way, the Harbour 10 offers a good excuse to lace up and put your fitness to the test.

Running With Purpose

The Real Insurance Harbour 10 is proud to partner with the We Run Foundation, an organisation dedicated to creating more opportunities for people to experience the benefits of running.

Funds raised through this year's event will support the Run Beyond Project, which helps young people from disadvantaged and marginalised communities access training programs, build confidence through movement and ultimately participate in events like the Harbour 10 themselves.

The need for initiatives like this is significant. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, only 7.9 per cent of Australian adolescents aged 13 to 17 meet daily physical activity guidelines. Globally, around 85 per cent of adolescent girls fail to meet the World Health Organization's minimum activity recommendations.

Through its partnership with the We Run Foundation, the Harbour 10 is helping support programs that encourage more young people to experience the physical, social and mental benefits of being active.

Participants will also have access to fundraising incentives linked to both run clubs and individual fundraising efforts, including opportunities to secure entries into future events such as the TCS Sydney Marathon and Tokyo Marathon 2027.

Registrations are now open at www.harbour10.com.au.
