With a shocking 67% of people in Australia estimated to experience an eating disorder in their lifetime, it’s time to get talking. This not for profit is supporting Sydneysiders to do just that and we’re here for it, changing the game one conversation at a time. Hide N Seek is a not-for-profit founded to create an open conversation around eating disorders, foster awareness and provide essential resources and support to those caring for individuals with eating disorders. They’re on a mission to transform the language surrounding eating disorders and create a supportive community where caregivers can find the language of support and understanding they need, with a goal to raise awareness and provide essential resources to caregivers of individuals struggling with these conditions. With a focus on ‘prevention, control and treatment of eating disorders, emphasising early intervention and empathetic care’, the organisation’s ‘Seek, Help, Speak’ program equips educators in public or private schools with the knowledge and resources to support young people experiencing an eating disorder with education on signs and symptoms, misconceptions, and the language of seeking help, with online or face-to-face sessions available. For anyone seeking support and practical advice to support loved ones with an eating disorder, you can download the 'Language of Seeking Help' e-book to arm you with essential insights.
