A grant of $130 million is being given to the state of NSW to boost integral mental health services following the lockdown.
The funds will be spent on providing:
· Easier access to private mental health professionals
· Additional Headspace support services for young people
· Suicide prevention training for teachers and parents
· More mental health services for Aboriginal Australians
· Better quipping frontline workers responding to eating disorders
· Extra support for child protection practitioners at high risk of trauma
· Grants for local wellbeing events
· Help for sporting bodies to deliver mental health initiatives
· More beds for young people experiencing complex trauma
· A new multicultural mental health line
· Increased support for women with perinatal depression and anxiety
· 145,000 more consults with mental health professionals
