For anyone looking to move away from seed-oil-based condiments, finding an Australian made chilli oil without ultra-processed ingredients has not been possible. That is, until now.
 
Golden Groves has released Australia’s first chilli oil made purely with certified organic extra virgin olive oil and no seed oils.
 
Made in small batches and grounded in the philosophy that food is nourishment for both body and soul, this launch reimagines chilli oil through a wellness-first lens, offering a cleaner flavour-rich alternative to conventional chilli oils.

Golden Groves is the vision of Greek-Australian founder Yianna Velos, who launched the brand in 2021 to share both her family’s organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the deeper cultural story behind it. The brand celebrates connection, nourishment and the ritual of sharing meals, all values deeply embedded in Greek culture.
 
Made in Melbourne in small batches, the new Golden Groves Extra Virgin Chilli Oil uses the brand’s certified organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil as its base.

The oil itself begins in the sun-drenched Mani Peninsula in southern Greece, where generations of Yianna’s family have cultivated Koroneiki olives overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Harvested early while still vibrant green and cold-pressed locally, the olives retain high levels of naturally occurring polyphenols, compounds widely associated with the health benefits of traditional Mediterranean diets.
 
Infused with ground chilli, fennel seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, paprika and rosemary, the new extra virgin chilli oil delivers gentle warmth layered with aromatic depth and a lightly crispy texture.
 
It’s intentionally mild in heat, making it versatile enough to elevate everyday meals including eggs, roasted vegetables, pasta, seafood and grilled meats.
