The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means “to join” or “to yoke” and is commonly interpreted to mean ‘union’ or ‘connection’.
 
The study and practise of yoga will lead you to understand your body and yourself on a deeper level and will give you a sense of wholeness and connectedness.
 
WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

  • Yin yoga is a slow-paced and wonderfully healing style of yoga. Meditative and deeply relaxing, you will place the body in specific postures and hold for extended periods of time, using your breath and mindfulness to release tension and drop into states of peace and relaxation.
  • The moves are a lot more passive and floor based so are ideal for those with limited mobility or injury. Yin is also an emotionally restorative style as the slow and deliberate poses give you the chance to sink into the movement, relax and self heal.
  • The practice allows you to slow down, relax, and turn inward, which helps alleviate stress and restore your energy levels. Yin yoga also improves flexibility, boosts circulation, and reduces tension.
