The Edit
Sydney’s Best Bathhouses, Saunas and Ice Baths To Visit In 2026

Sydney’s wellness scene has evolved, and bathhouses and recovery spaces are no longer just places you go to relax quietly on your own. They’ve become the new way to connect, catch up and reset together.

Across the city, sauna sessions, ice baths and thermal pools are replacing brunch dates and post-work drinks, creating spaces where conversation flows just as easily as the sweat. From whisper-quiet sanctuaries to social contrast therapy hubs designed for group bookings and community sessions, Sydney’s bathhouse boom is reshaping how we unwind, recover, and spend time together.

With so many incredible wellness and recovery spaces now open across the city, it was time for an updated, comprehensive guide. Just like our original edit published in 2023, every space included here is unsponsored and has been chosen purely because they deliver when it comes to experience, atmosphere and genuine wellbeing benefits.

This guide is broken into four sections -  Bathhouses, Thermal and Contrast Therapy Sanctuaries, Multi-Modality Wellness Spaces & Biohacking Studios, and Unique Experiences, plus a suburb-by-suburb roundup so you can easily find a space near you.

Alright, let’s get into it.

BATHHOUSES

Nature’s Energy – Glebe, Balmain and Newtown
As Australia’s most awarded bathhouse - and a personal favourite of our team here at Zoii - Nature’s Energy is where you’ll find an experience that blends the indoors and outdoors with Finnish saunas, steam rooms, warm spas, cold pools, and pale showers with options to add on organic facials, body treatments, and massage for a complete day of wellness. All three serene locations have a whisper only policy and unlike any other bathhouse in Sydney you’ll also find private red light therapy suits at their Glebe location. Nature’s Energy also often runs community events to support the over-all well-being of their community and offers sunrise sessions at their Glebe and Balmain locations where you can enjoy 60 minutes of all-inclusive bathhouse access between 6:30am and 9:30am, from $39 Monday–Thursday and $49 Friday–Sunday.

Escape Bathhouse- Chatswood
Set in the Seymore Building- a restored iconic North Shore landmark, Escape Bathhouse provides wellness lovers with a large mineral pool, steam room, infrared sauna, two ice baths and dedicated treatment rooms for Sydneysiders to enjoy personalised wellness experiences including massages. One of the things we like best about Escape Bathhouse is the Wellness Placebo Bar where you can order wellness cocktails, herbal tea, kombucha, light snacks and grazing boxes. To bring the local wellness community together, Escape have also recently started a Run Club which is a short 5km loop on a Friday morning at an easy pace which includes an optional 45-minute recovery session in the Bathhouse (soak, steam & sauna) for $35.

38 ° The Bathhouse – Bondi Beach (formerly Slow House Bondi)

Their facilities include traditional Finnish salt saunas, steam rooms, magnesium pools, cold plunges, and private infrared sauna suites. What we love? You can opt to book in for a social session or quiet session depending on whether you want total peace and quiet or are happy to get social on your visit. Did we mention that on a Tuesday and Friday between 9:30am-11am you can soak up dreamy sound bowl bliss with live sound healing? Their 'Remedi Room' also provides therapeutic spa treatments, including massages and facials, designed to help you recover and unwind.
