These are the best secret Sydney beaches to get your Vitamin D fix over the Easter break

We love a lazy beach day as much as the next person — salty hair, sand between your toes, dipping in and out of the water to cool off as you please and soaking up those blissful sun rays whilst diving into the pages of a good read or enjoying a siesta. On a balmy day in Sydney however- and especially over periods like Easter- you’ll know the struggle is real when it comes to just even trying to find a spot since everyone else has the same idea.

To help you enjoy some more secluded and peaceful Vitamin Sea and D, we’ve combed the city for the best (now not so!) secret beaches in Sydney to beat the crowds and make you feel like you’re in your own private little slice of sandy paradise.

Kutti Beach, Vaucluse
Tucked away between Parsley Bay Reserve and Watson’s Bay, this little slice of serenity is one of the Eastern suburb’s best kept secrets. A major drawcard of visiting is that it’s a dog-friendly beach, so you’ll have the chance to get plenty of cute doggo pats in as you sunbake, giving you all those fuzzy, feel-good feels. Kutti Beach is often missed because it’s not obvious how to reach it- so we’re going to spill the tea. At the end of Wharf Road, find the narrow staircase next to the Vaucluse Amateur Sailing Club and follow it all the way down, and if you have a furry friend remember to take them along for the adventure!

Collins Flat Beach, Manly
Skip busy Manly Beach and enjoy scenic views of the harbour on a private beach instead! Just a few minute’s drive out of Manly you’ll find Collins Flat Beach, a quiet stretch of sand between Little Manly Cove and North Head. If waves aren’t your thing, you’ll love the calm waters here for a dip! Pack a picnic and enjoy the time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This beach has one of the best views for a romantic sunset too making it a pretty epic spot for a date.

Lady Martins Beach, Point Piper
Sweeping views across the harbour at a secluded beach? Sign us up! Previously known as Woollahra Beach, Lady Martins Beach is well hidden from the crowds but not difficult to find once you know it’s there. Locate this strip of sand at the end of a lane next to Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club on Wolseley Road and enjoy a day or quick dip at one of Sydney’s best, but private, beaches.

Chowder Bay, Mosman
Sydney’s north is well worth the jaunt over the bridge to soak up stunning harbour views and splash around in calm waters, and Chowder Bay won’t disappoint. Located near historic military buildings and Clifton Gardens Wharf, it can be found along the Harbour to Spit Bridge walk, so if you’ve got the time for an adventure lace up those joggers and then stop here for a refreshing dip along the way!

Queen’s Beach, Vaucluse
With a backdrop of lavish Vaucluse homes and views across the water to the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Rose Bay, we think this one is aptly named! Another gem in the Eastern suburbs, this little cove is the perfect spot for an afternoon splash and lie in the sun before watching the city skyline as the sun goes down. In our opinion this is one of Sydney's very best sunset beach spots. To get down there, find the sandstone steps off Queen’s Avenue near Little Queen’s Lane.

Castle Rock, Clontarf
You don’t have to fly overseas to feel like you’re in a tropical location! This hidden Sydney beach is surrounded by lush, dark green vegetation, making you feel like you’re in a rainforest oasis on a tropical island. Drive to the end of Oglivy Road in Clontarf and descend the stairs to find this little, hidden patch of sand and turquoise water. Just remember to pack those healthy drinks and snacks if you want them, as there are no shops or eateries nearby!

Resolute Beach, Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park
This one is a little further afield, but definitely worth the mention on a list of secret beaches! Head off an adventure to Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park for the day and follow the signs to Resolute Beach along Resolute Loop Trail, a 6-kilometre circuit. Move those legs and enjoy the scenic trail through the national park before reaching this hidden beach to cool off in the turquoise water and take in the views of Pittwater and Barrenjoey Headland.
