About the Opportunity
Council are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Seniors and Disability Services team  in providing quality, direct services to maintain the overall well-being and independence for seniors and people with disability.
 
The successful applicant will require:
 
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of food safety guidelines and hygiene practices
  • Current NSW drivers licence
  • Consistent, reliable and flexible.

Council fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation, and associated provisions, and will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supporting Council environment, which endeavours to promote child safe child friendly practices. It is essential for applicants to submit their WWCC number with their application. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.
Salary: Employment is in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 4 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $27.04 to $31.09 per hour, plus superannuation.
 
The commencement salary will depend upon the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and competencies.
 
Conditions of Employment: This is a term contract, part-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 2:30pm for a total of 25 hours week.
 
This position will be located at Council's Nutrition Services Merrylands Community Centre, with travel required across Council worksites.
