The Food and Nutrition Data Coordinator will look after our Food Data Base. This role is a 12-month maximum term contract, with an immediate start. It is entry-level suitable and our ideal candidate would be a recent graduate in a food science-related area.
 
Role Purpose

  • Update and add food and drink product information to the food database, constantly ensuring our website and app are up-to-date with the latest information - WW Verified.
  • Aim to increase quantity and improve quality, maintaining or increasing our in-app barcode success scan rate.
  • Ensure overall food preference tagging and categorization is up to date, allowing the business to innovate around how foods and recipes are served up in the app (i.e. “What’s in my Fridge?” feature). Propose modifications based on available insights or new product developments.
  • Understand and apply business logic based on the latest program, providing accurate SmartPoints values for the business to use across print and digital collateral.
  • Support internal partners with timely food data reports to meet their contracts and obligations.
  • Continually implement improved data quality standards, collaborating with Data Science and other Product and Tech partners to facilitate.
  • Increase the relevance and availability of diverse cuisines, to reach members of all cultural backgrounds by adding more cuisine types based on member request and internal insights
  • Expand the breadth of trackable restaurant menu items, by reviewing, updating or adding new chain menus or seasonal items
  • Bring forth new ideas and new ways of working to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the way all food data is handled, used, and maintained in the database.
 
Skills/Attributes/Qualifications
 
Essential
 
  • University qualifications in nutrition or food science
  • Passion for health and food data, e.g. labels for grocery products and nutrients in meals and restaurant foods, food classification, differences in food culture and cooking.
  • Sound project management experience and excellent ability to engage with stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary/cross-functional team setting
