How I Reversed My Biological Age by 16 Years - And the Framework That Helped Me Do It

When I received the results of my latest biological age test, I had to read them twice.

At 49 years old, my biological age came back at 33.

Naturally, people wanted to know how I did it.

The truth is, reversing my biological age was never the goal.

Eight years ago, I was battling Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) after years of mould exposure. I felt old before my time. My energy was depleted, my joints ached, I struggled with brain fog and getting through the day felt harder than it should.

I wasn't thinking about longevity.

I was simply trying to get my health back.

That journey led me deep into the world of biohacking. I read the books, attended the conferences, listened to the experts and experimented with countless health protocols. Some worked brilliantly. Others didn't.

What surprised me most was that the biggest improvements didn't come from expensive gadgets, fancy supplements or the latest wellness trend.
They came from the fundamentals.

The longer I spent in the health and longevity space, the more I realised many of us are looking for shortcuts while stepping over the foundations.

Sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, recovery, relationships and environment may not be the most exciting topics on social media, but they're where the greatest gains often live.

Over time, I started seeing the same pattern with my clients. The people getting the best results weren't necessarily doing the most biohacks. They were doing the right things consistently.

That's ultimately why I created the Biohack Me Method.

Not because the world needed another health framework, but because people were overwhelmed. Every week there seems to be a new supplement, wearable or longevity protocol promising to transform our health. Most people aren't lacking information; they're drowning in it.

The Biohack Me Method is designed to simplify health optimisation by focusing on what matters most.
It starts with what I call the Biohacking Basics:

  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Gut Health
  • Movement
  • Recovery
  • Hydration
  • Mindset
  • Connection
These foundations support every area of health, from energy and mood through to brain function, hormones, immunity and healthy ageing.

Only once those foundations are in place does it make sense to layer in more advanced testing, technology and biohacks.

When people ask what contributed most to lowering my biological age, my answer is usually less exciting than they expect.

I prioritised sleep.
I reduced inflammation.
I improved my gut health.
I learnt how to regulate my nervous system.
I moved my body consistently.
I spent more time in nature.
I cleaned up my environment.
I strengthened my relationships.
And I shifted my mindset around ageing itself.

None of these things were revolutionary. Together, they were transformative.

I'm also a huge believer in testing. Over the years I've used DNA testing, microbiome analysis, hormone testing and biological age assessments to better understand my own health.

But here's an important distinction.

Testing doesn't create change.

Behaviour does.

The data simply helps identify where to focus your efforts.

When my biological age result came back showing 33, what mattered most wasn't the number itself. It was what that number represented.
Eight years earlier I was trying to recover from chronic illness.

Now I had objective evidence that my body was functioning significantly younger than my chronological age.

The age reversal was a by-product.

The real goal was rebuilding my health, increasing my energy and creating a body capable of supporting the life I wanted to live.

If there's one thing I've learnt through this journey, it's that ageing isn't something to fear.

We can't stop the clock, but we can influence how we experience the years ahead.

That's why one of the principles underpinning the Biohack Me Method is what I call a pro-ageing mindset. Instead of fighting ageing, we focus on optimising healthspan — the number of years we remain healthy, energetic and engaged in life.

For me, ageing well means having the energy to do meaningful work, staying mentally sharp, maintaining strong relationships and continuing to do the things I love for as long as possible.

The irony is that after years immersed in biohacking, I've arrived back where I started.

At the basics.

The science is exciting. The technology is advancing rapidly. The testing can be incredibly valuable.

But the biggest gains still come from consistently doing the fundamentals well.

If my biological age result proves anything, it's that the basics still work.

And that's exactly what the Biohack Me Method is built on.
