The first female-led cannabis dispensary in Oz lands in Byron

The only female-led dispensary that’s making waves in the plant-based medicine industry is heading to Byron Bay. Founded in 2020 by clinical pharmacist Lisa Nguyen, Astrid was opened shortly after medicinal legalisation in Australia changed the classification of cannabis to a prescription medicine and it’s one of the few dispensaries in Australia that specialising in plant-based medicines.
 
With their first store in Melbourne landing them the title of ‘Dispensary Of The Year 2021’ and ‘Top 20 Retailer 2022’, Astrid is set to open a second retail space in Byron Bay this week- ‘Our aim is to put the patient experience at the forefront by innovatively flipping the traditional pharmacy design on its head. Astrid abstracts the traditional space with an open-plan design, integrating the retail space and dispensary for greater human-to-human interaction.’
 
At the dispensary you’ll be able to speak to the team of pharmacists and discover cannabis products alongside premium skincare, evidence-based gut health solutions and plant-based body care products.
