Located on the border of Collingwood and Fitzroy in Melbourne’s thriving inner-north, Sense Of Self urban bathhouse and spa has just given wellness lovers yet another reason to want to escape to this oasis of calm with the introduction of a new offering.
 
Sense Of Self which opened its doors in 2021 with the goal of stripping back the traditional spa experience to its roots of origin- connection and relaxation, sans expectations- has added a new Sud+Mud hammam treatment that can be purchased as an optional add on that allows you to indulge in an ancient tradition either solo or with a friend.
 
The new Sud+Mud Kit available as a $35 add-on to bathhouse entry, is a self-led ritual designed exclusively for use within the Sense Of Self Hammam. It gets you steamy, suddy, muddy, and leaves you squeaky clean. With a focus on amplifying the sensory and enjoying the simple pleasure of a deep clean in a communal space, it’s a great way to further elevate your bathhouse experience. Each kit contains single serves of black soap, a dry mud mask and a kessa glove, all in reusable containers that are yours to keep.
 
Alongside your Sud+Mud ritual in the Hammam (46°C), you can choose your own relaxation adventure and circulate between the large mineral bath (39°C), Finnish sauna (80°C), and Cold Plunge (10-12°C), as well as the nurturing relaxation zone with freshly brewed tea, dried fruits and water stations.
 
Above the bathhouse lies the Massage Studio with ten dedicated treatment rooms, so you can choose to complement your bathhouse experience with one of three types of therapeutic massage on offer with the optional add-on of a gua-sha facial or a scalp and foot treatment. And if you’d like to take a little piece of Sense Of Self home with you, exit through the gift shop and choose from a carefully curated selection of local artisan wares and nourishing spa products.
