Hair thinning, unexplained weight changes, disrupted sleep and hormonal symptoms can take a significant toll on your wellbeing, particularly when you're struggling to find answers or feel like your concerns aren't being taken seriously. And with World Menopause Day on 18 October drawing attention to the challenges women face during midlife, a newly expanded digital healthcare service is offering Australian women another avenue for seeking professional support. Meet Hers, a women's healthcare platform that connects women with Australian-registered medical practitioners online, offering personalised treatment programs for concerns including menopause, perimenopause, hair loss and weight management. While the name might be new to many Australians, the platform has evolved from Juniper, an existing digital health service that launched locally in 2021 with a focus on medically supervised weight management. Following the acquisition of Juniper's parent company, Eucalyptus, by global healthcare company Hims & Hers, the platform has officially adopted the Hers name and expanded its focus to address a broader range of women's health needs. So how does it actually work? Women begin by completing an online health assessment covering their symptoms, medical history and concerns. They're then connected with an Australian-registered practitioner who can assess their individual circumstances and discuss appropriate treatment options. Where clinically suitable, this may include prescription treatments and personalised care plans, alongside ongoing consultations and support. One of the most notable additions is Hers' focus on perimenopause and menopause, offering women another way to seek medical advice about hormonal changes and the symptoms that can accompany them. The platform is also introducing hair regrowth programs for women experiencing thinning or hair loss, which can be associated with hormonal changes, genetics, stress and nutritional deficiencies. And for women seeking support with weight management, Hers will continue offering the medically supervised programs previously available through Juniper, including nutrition and lifestyle guidance. The platform says women can request a female practitioner and access additional support through its care team, while a private community of more than 27,000 women provides opportunities to connect with others navigating similar experiences. With women's health receiving greater attention and conversations around menopause becoming more open, the launch adds another option for Australian women seeking professional advice and support.
