Electrolyte supplements seem to be everywhere right now, but KIC is about to launch a new hydration formula developed with women specifically in mind.
KIC co-founders Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw have spent the past 18 months developing KICHydration alongside KICBump’s perinatal dietitian Caitlin Ireland, a qualified sports and perinatal dietitian.
The result is two new products: KICHydration: Everyday, designed for daily use, and KICBump Hydration, created for pregnancy and postpartum.
KIC says one of the biggest differences is the balance of electrolytes in its everyday formula. While many hydration products focus heavily on sodium to replace what’s lost through sweat during exercise, KICHydration contains twice as much potassium as sodium.
According to the brand, the decision came after looking at the role everyday diets play in electrolyte intake, with many women already consuming plenty of sodium while potassium can be harder to get enough of.
The formula will contain four essential minerals alongside vitamin B6 and prebiotic fibre, and is being positioned for hydration beyond the gym for busy mornings, long walks and afternoons when energy starts to dip.
KIC is also extending the concept into its existing KICBump offering with a separate hydration formula developed for pregnancy and postpartum.
There are still a few details we’re waiting on. KIC hasn't yet released the complete ingredient list, individual electrolyte amounts, flavours, pricing or full nutritional panel, so we'll be keeping an eye out for those when the product officially launches.
For now, KICHydration is listed as coming soon, with a
waitlist open for those wanting first access.
